🌍 Overview
Tasting notes of Elderflower, berry and milk chocolate.
Gosh - that's a lot of tastes .. And it's all down to the altitude that this coffee is grown at. Close to 2000 MASL (that's metres above sea level, to you and me) - which is higher than Ben Nevis.
This coffee comes from the Planadas subregion in South Tolima, Colombia, a high-altitude growing area nestled in the foothills of the Colombian Andes. The lot is made up of contributions from 1,042 smallholder farmers, organised into 23 local producer groups — many of whom are multi-generational coffee growers continuing long family traditions.
This is a washed process lot composed of classic Colombian Arabica varieties: Castillo, Caturra and Colombia. After harvest, organically grown cherries are carefully selected, depulped and fermented to break down the mucilage, before being fully washed and dried in parabolic greenhouses for 10–18 days depending on weather conditions. This controlled drying method helps preserve clarity, stability and clean flavour definition.
Planadas has a unique and resilient coffee history. Despite exceptional growing conditions, many farming communities were historically isolated due to regional conflict, limiting access to markets and agricultural resources. Today, cooperative organisation and Organic certification have helped strengthen infrastructure, improve livelihoods and ensure better long-term sustainability for producers.
🏡 Perfect For:
Ideal for filter, V60, AeroPress and batch brew, where its clarity and fruit notes shine. Also excellent as a lighter espresso for those who enjoy a brighter, more modern cup with balanced acidity.

Tried Cannon after searching on maps for a local coffee roaster. First order was their Brazil Mio Peaberry medium dark and from first pull it was an obvious step up from other beans I'd been using recently (and they were not bad by any means). Will continue to work my way through their selection but imagine I will regularly return to the Peaberry.

Popped in for some beans, recieved top class welcoming service and left with brilliant coffee. Took home the Brazil Mio PB (after trying it on espresso onsite) and Uganda Mt Elgon to try at home. As soon as i got back I made myself a moka pot and yes - the Ugandan has also been roasted beautifully. Will definitely be back soon. Nice one ☝🏼
